  The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, got the largest chunk of a total of N18,117,000,421 budgeted for the running of tertiary institutions in Oyo State for the 2022 fiscal year. An analysis of the 2022 appropriation bill of N294.7billion signed into law by Governor Seyi Makinde on December 22 showed that the combined recurrent and capital expenditure of LAUTECH totals N6,154,000,000. The 2022 expenditure of The Polytechnic, Ibadan of N3,366,736,410 is next highest to that of LAUTECH. Further analysis shows that the sum of N3,329,888,262 was allocated to Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, while the sum of N1,367,984,551 is allotted to the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora.   Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared his readiness to reconcile all contending interests within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. The bills are the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Response Team and Referral Centre Bill, 2020, Hotel Occupancy and Restaurant Consumption Tax Bill, 2021 and the Oyo State Audit Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has described the death of Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade lll, as a great loss to the people of Ogbomoso, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.   The latest ranking of Nigerian Universities has shown the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as the best State University in the country. It returned it as the fourth-best overall university in Nigeria. The university, owned by the Oyo State government, comes after the University of Ibadan, Redeemers University and Covenant University respectively. Titled 2021 ranking of Nigerian Universities, the ranking instituted by the National Universities Commission (NUC), as one of the several drivers of quality improvement of the Nigerian University system was powered by the League of Directors of Academic Planning (LDAPs) of all universities in Nigeria.
