Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Friday, approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which affected two Ministries. The Governor, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, confirmed the swapping of the portfolios of Commissioners for Education and Establishments. The statement confirmed that the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Daud Kehinde Sangodoyin has been moved from the Ministry to that of Establishment and Training, while his counterpart in the Ministry of Establishment and Training, Barr. Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno state, has appointed Alhaji Yusuf Alao from Oyo state as a special adviser. Alao is from Ogbomoso area of Oyo State. He is one of the 26 appointees sworn in by the governor on Wednesday. Natural Disasters: Makinde Approves N500m counterpart fund, Inaugurates NEWMAP Committee|OGBOMOSO INFO|

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Thursday announced the approval of the sum of N500 million as counterpart funding for the World Bank-supported Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) in the State. The project is to enhance the control and prevention of flood, erosion and natural disasters across the nooks and crannies of Oyo State. Governor Makinde, who made the disclosure while inaugurating the steering committee on the NEWMAP, said that the Federal Government will also release $5million as counterpart fund. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has made good his administration’s promise to recall civil servants unjustly sacked by the immediate past administration of Senator Abiola Ajimobi. The fact emerged on Thursday as civil servants found to have been unjustly sacked four years ago at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (because) have been recalled. Ajimobi’s administration was said to have in February 2016, terminated the appointments of the recalled officers for unjustified reasons. An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, the State capital, on Tuesday restrained the 68 sacked council chairmen and chairmen of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) from the forceful and illegal takeover of the council offices across the state.
