Makinde Reinstates, Approves Payment Of 5 Month Salaries For 41 LAUTECH Staff Sacked By Ajimobi|Ogbomoso Info

  Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the reinstatement of staff members of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, sacked by the last administration. The Governor also approved payment of their salaries for five months during the Executive Council meeting held on September 29, 2020 at the Council Chambers, Secretariat, Ibadan. The 41 staff reinstated were among those affected by the sack order issued by the administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi. Oyo Information Commissioner, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun hinted that the resolution of the Oyo State Government was in tandem with the resolve of Governor Seyi Makinde to cater for all, no matter their status in the society. “The Executive Council has approved that the reinstatement takes effect from May 2020, when their colleagues in LAUTECH who were also affected,  resumed office”. Woman jailed 98 years for stealing N49m, $368,000 from employer in Ibadan

  A former staff of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Oreoluwa Adesakin, was on Monday handed a cumulative 98 years in prison by Justice Muniru Olagunju of the Oyo State High Court. The convict was prosecuted by the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on 14-count charges, bordering on stealing, forgery and fraudulent accounting. Adesakin, female, was found guilty of committing financial fraud against her employer to the tune of N49,320,652.32 and additional $368,203.00 belonging to the bank which she converted to her personal use. One of the charges read: “That you Oreoluwa Adesakin sometime between the months of May, 2013 and November, 2013, at Ibadan within the Ibadan Judicial Division, whilst being a staff of First Bank PLC stole the sum of N25,974,116.13 from First Bank Plc MoneyGram Payment Naira Account, property of First bank Plc.” She pleaded not guilty to all the charges, which necessitated her trial.     The Federal Government has declared Thursday, October 1, 2020, as a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who made the declaration, congratulated all Nigerians on the celebration of the country’s Diamond Jubilee while stressing the government’s commitment to the socio-economic transformation of the country. Oyo Workers Directed to Join Nationwide Strike on Monday

    Workers in Oyo State have been directed to join the nationwide strike commencing on Monday, September 28, 2020, to protest the recent hike in petrol pump price and electricity tariff. Makinde inaugurates 5-man Committee to audit Caretaker Chairmen

  Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has inaugurated 5-man committee to audit the local Government Caretaker Chairmen in the state.  OgbomosoInfo reports that the committee were inaugurated this evening, Wednesday.  According to Makinde, the committee would be led by Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, and will have four weeks to conduct the audit and hand in their report.
