Makinde Renames First Technical University, Ibadan, After Late Ajimobi

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, on Friday, named the First Technical University, Ibadan, after the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. The institution is now known as Senator Abiola Ajimobi First Technical University. Dapo Abiodun Receives Certificate of Return

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday, received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Dapo Abiodun attributed his victory at the March 18 governorship election to the Almighty God and the benevolence of the people of the state. Buhari Approves Appointment Of 6 New Permanent Secretaries

  President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of six permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service following the recently conducted selection process. The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) Folasade Yemi-Esan, made this known in a statement in Abuja by Director Communications, Office of the HOCSF, Mohammed Ahmed. The appointees and their states of origin are: Mahmud Kambari (Borno State), Esuabana Asanye (Cross River), Lamuwa Ibrahim (Gombe), (Yakubu Kofar-Mata (Kano), Oloruntola Michael (Ogun) and Richard Pheelangwah (Taraba State).  Mrs Yemi-Esan noted that the date for the swearing-in and deployment of the new appointees will be announced in due course.

PDP Reverses Suspension Of Ortom, Fayose, Anyim, Others

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reversed the recent suspension of a former Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema; former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose; Senator Pius Anyim; Prof. Dennis Ityavyar (Benue State), and Dr. Aslam Aliyu (Zamfara State). The Party also reversed the directive to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to appear before a Disciplinary Committee for alleged anti-party activities. This was made known in a statement on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba. The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Cup tournament, postponed until 2024, now has dates set for the kickoff and the final. The biennial tournament scheduled for Cote d’Ivoire will kick off on 13 January, 2024, at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, with the final set for 11 February 2024, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced. EFCC Arrests 21 Alleged Cybercriminals in Ibadan

  Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, March 30, 2023 arrested twenty one suspected internet fraudsters including two females in an intelligence driven operation at Agbowo in Akobo and Idi – Ishin areas of Ibadan, Oyo State.   The suspects are Abdulsalam Yusuf Olamilekan, Henry Ugochukwu Ike, Sobowale Tolulope Enoch, Franklin Ibeh Kelechi, Aderoju Hammed Akande, Afolabi Mayowa Akinbobola, Emmanuel Victor Oluwasegun, Odidwe Victory Okwise, Okeke Hycent Obina, Ibelih Powel Theophilus, Anifowose Dolapo Praise, Balogun Oluwatobi Ayodeji and Ayoade Rofeek Mayowa. Suspected Herdsmen Invade School, Injure Students, Teachers In Oyo

Suspected herdsmen, on Thursday morning, allegedly invaded one of the public secondary schools in Oyo State, injuring students and teachers. It was gathered that the herders invaded the Community Grammar School, Alaropo Nla in the Oriire Local Government Area of the state. The herdsmen, according to an eyewitness account, numbering over twenty, allegedly invaded the school with their cattle and injured some of the students and teachers. Some of the students and their teachers, among who are Mr. Paul Olabode, were inflicted with sword and machete cuts, while many others were left with broken legs and hands. The source disclosed that the school had just finished morning devotion and students were preparing to settle down in their classrooms to continue their second-term examination when the herdsmen invaded the school farm with their cows grazing mindlessly on crops. OYO SUBEB Monitors Unified Exams

Oyo Govt, Consultant Mark Global Recycling Day with Rewards

The Executive Governor of Oyo State , Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, and his deputy, Barr. Abdulroheem Bayo Lawal and the 32 Oyo House of Assembly members-elect, on Wednesday, received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). FG Shifts Population Census to May | Ogbomoso Info

                          Lai Mohammed The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved 2.8 billion naira for the procurement of software for the National Population Commission for the conduct of the National Census in May 2023. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday, disclosed this in Abuja at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by the President Muhammadu Buhari. Lai Mohammed also disclosed that the 2023 population and housing census earlier scheduled for March 29 has been shifted to May 2023. He explained that the decision was necessitated by the rescheduling of the governorship elections from March 11 to March 18. FEC has also approved the Nigeria Agenda 2050, a plan aimed at increasing real GDP growth by seven per cent, creating 165 million naira new jobs and reducing the number of people living in poverty to 2.1 million in 2050.
