Prominent Indigenes of Ogbomoso who have distinguished themselves in various fields of human endeavour was honoured Yesterday. Disability Should Not Make Parents Turn Our Youths To Beggers - Oyo Commissioner

Oyo Govt Will Not Increase Tax, Other Dues - Adeleke

Oyo State Government has reiterated its assurance to the people of the State that the administration would not increase tax on business enterprises in order to increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State. The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYSIRS), Aremo John Adeleke stated this in a chat with journalists in his office recently, saying that Governor Seyi Makinde was applying sympathy and empathy in his dealings on the matter since the new administration came to office. Vacate Trans-Amusement Park Premises - Oyo Govt To Mechanics, Car Dealers

Oyo state government has issued a final warning to mechanics and car dealers occupying the the Trans-Amusement Park premises, Ibadan to vacate the space before Monday 30th September, 2019.  The recreational park has harbored motor mechanics, car dealers and other spare parts dealers for some years now but due to the proposed upgrade and renovation of the park, the government through the Bureau of Investment and Public Private Partnership in collaboration with the Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency (OYRTMA) met with the artisans on Friday, warning them to desist from using the said space as a mechanic village. Oyo State Government has revealed that it would construct five new Model schools across the three senatorial districts, saying this is in line with the 2018 intervention project in conjunction with Federal Government-Universal Basic Education Board. Oyo Holds Monthly Sanitation on Saturday

The Oyo State Government has disclosed that the National Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise would hold on Saturday, 28th September, 2019. According to a statement issued and signed by the Hon. Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Kehinde Ayoola stated that the sanitation exercise would hold between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00am and there would be total restriction of human and vehicular movement during the exercise except those on essential duties. The statement directs all the Local Government Council Heads to ensure compliance in their respective domains, as it was expected that roads would be blocked to refrain movements. Makinde Fulfills Another Electioneering Promise, Releases 2012-2013 Gratuity

In its bid to bring succor to both working and retired citizens of Oyo State, the Present  Administration in the State has  distributed   checks for the  payment  of gratuity in order to make life better for old and young  people living in the pace- setter State. LAUTECH: Strike Looms As ASUU Threatened To Frustrate Academic Activities, If

Crisis is looming again at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have threatened to frustrate academic activities if Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola refuses to pay their outstanding two months’ salaries by the end of September. The Current Oyo and Osun State governments inherited unpaid salary arrears of eight months being owed LAUTECH academic staff. ASUU claimed that Osun State Government which is scheduled to pay subvention between July and December 2019 only paid in July and refused to pay for August and September making payment of salaries impossible. Oyo State Government has declared war on those who sabotaged some of the newly constructed Model Schools in the State, saying the present administration would treat them as saboteurs who maliciously damage government properties. 'It is Ungodly, Criminal To Abandon Children', Oyo Commissioner Advises Parents

Oyo State government has described the act of abandoning newborn babies by their mothers as ungodly and criminal because God created everybody for a particular purpose that must be fulfilled. The State Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja Faosat Sanni said this when she visited some Juvenile Correctional Homes, Child Care Units and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Persons at Ibadan on Tuesday. Nigeria frowned at the act of abandoning newborn children and adopted the Child Rights Act for domestication in 2003 which made it forbidden to separate a child from the parents, except for the interest of the child. Oyo Govt Excludes Churches, Mosques From Taxes, Levies

The Oyo state government on Sunday declared that places of worship located in the state are excluded from paying levies and taxes. Rev. Idowu Ogedengbe, the Executive Assistant to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, announced this at the thanksgiving mass to celebrate the 70th year birthday of the Catholic Archbishop of Ibadan Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin held at the Church of Ascension, Bodija, Ibadan at the weekend. He stated that any places of worship that do businesses such as establishing of schools, universities, hospitals, bakeries, and so on must pay tax to the government since it was a profit-making venture. Sacked OYSIEC Chair, Members Kick Against Dissolution Of Commission

Ex-Chairman and members of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) have kicked against plan by the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde to reconstitute the board of the Commission. They described the action as unfortunate and a deliberate violation of the rule of law considering that action has been filed at the Industrial Court on the matter. The All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday, disagreed over the composition of members of Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).
