Oyo Releases List of Amotekun Successful Applicants

  The list of successful applicants from the recent recruitment exercise of the Amotekun corps in Oyo  State has been released. According to a statement made available to Newsmen by the commandant of the security outfit, all candidates are to check their names at their various local government headquarters and the Oyo State job portal on the internet. He disclosed that to demonstrate that security is on the priority list of Oyo State government, it has slated the commencement of the training for Amotekun Corp for November 4, 2020 to ensure safety of lives and property. Gratuity: Oyo Govt Pays N180m to Retired Civil servants

  Oyo state government, on Friday, presented #180 Million gratuity cheques to 94 retired civil servants. The brief event held at the state ministry of establishment and training had in attendance retired teachers, non-teaching staff, and judicial service commission staff, whose papers have been completed as at June 2013. While presenting cheques to the 94 retirees, the Commissioner for  Establishments and Training, Professor Daud Sangodoyin, stated that the state government has within 16 months, paid a total sum of #2.9 billion for about 1900 retirees. He, however, hinted that the Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has constituted a committee to find a way through which the state government can clear the backlog of gratuities owed retirees, whose papers have been completed and submitted. IGP To Policemen : Protect yourselves if assaulted

     Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has urged policemen to protect themselves if they are assaulted. Adamu said this at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Friday where he addressed the men as part of efforts to boost their morale in the wake of violence and destruction that trailed the #ENDSARS protests. He also said no amount of insults and provocation would make the police abandon their responsibilities of protecting lives and properties. Onpetu offers medical services to over 2000 Oyo residents

Makinde Approves N9.3b For 106 Mass Transit Buses

NSCDC agro Rangers arrests Cattle rustlers on their way to Ogbomoso

  A team of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps’ Agro Ranger in the Oyo State Command, has dislodged some herders from the Aroro Kole community along Igbo Oloyin in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state. Iskilu Akinsanya, state Commandant of NSCDC, noted that open grazing had since been prohibited in Oyo State with the enactment of the Anti-Grazing Laws by the state government in 2019. Narrating the incident in Ibadan on Tuesday, Akinsanya said a herder identified as Babangida Musa, 21, was arrested on Sunday after thorough search of the area. The Commandant said the herders were seen grazing about 400cows within the community. He said investigation showed that the leader of the group of herders, called Yinusa, 28, and Saidu, 27, came from Ogbomoso. Yinusa reportedly said that they were on their way to Ogbomoso. The Federal Government has declared Thursday October 29, 2020 as public holiday to mark this year’s Eidul-Mawlid Celebration. Makinde Approves Recruitment of 1500 Amotekun Corps, Training start Nov 1

  As a result of the unrest in the land, the Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has signed a document for the immediate recruitment of 1500 personnel to kick start the Amotekun Security Outfit in Oyo state. Governor Makinde disclosed this on Tuesday, during a meeting with the representatives of #EndSARS movement, Artisans, Okada riders, Micra operatives, and Youths, held at the house of chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.   South West Governors and  three of  the Federal Ministers from the region on Sunday  paid a condolence visit to Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the looting and arsons of public properties and institutions last week by suspected hoodlums. According to the Nation Newspapers, the Southwest Governors led by its chairman, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as well as the Ministers commiserated with those that lost their lives and properties in the coordinated attacks. Oyo State government, on Friday, has debunked allegations that it had stored away COVID-19 palliatives meant for the people of the state in a private warehouse in Ibadan for selfish reasons. The 2 Division Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo barracks, Ibadan, has informed communities residents within the barracks not to panic on hearing the sound of gunshots.
