Makinde Stop N67b Ibadan Circular Road Project Awarded By Ajimobi's Administration|OGBOMOSO INFO|

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has issued a stop work order in respect of the construction of the Ibadan circular road project awarded in May 2017. The Governor, who paid a visit to the site of the Circular Road, off the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, said that the road is meant to connect the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to the Ibadan/Ife expressway, adding that work should stop with immediate effect. A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted Governor Makinde as deploring the discouraging pace of work at the site, during an inspection tour to the site at the Ibadan-Lagos expressway axis. The Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board says a female pilgrim, Ms Anifat Saheed, flee in Jeddah during the 2019 Hajj operation in Saudi Arabia. Prof. Sayed Malik, the Chairman of Muslim wing of the board announced this on Thursday, in Ibadan, during the presentation of the 2019 Hajj report to Governor Seyi Makinde. He said she was one of the 914 pilgrims that took part in the 2019 Hajj from the state. According to Malik, the disappearance of Anifat, was noticed when the board was preparing the last batch of pilgrims for their journey to King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah on September 1 and all efforts to reach her proved abortive. The government of Oyo State has approved the release of the sum of N526 million as running costs for its 2,500 primary schools and about 640 secondary schools. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, which was made public on Monday in Ibadan, confirmed that the sum of N400 million has been advanced to the secondary schools, while the primary schools got the sum of N126 million. Herdsmen Resolved To Take Legal Action Against Oyo Anti-Open Grazing Bill

Herdsmen in Oyo state have resolved to use legal option to stop the Oyo State Open Rearing and Grazing Regulation Bill 2019. According to report, this decision was reached after hundreds of herdsmen from various parts of Oyo State on Tuesday assembled on Igangan, an agrarian community in Ibarapa North Local Government area.  Recalls that the bill which has already passed through second reading at the State House of Assembly had two weeks ago, witnessed a public hearing where stakeholders including farmers groups and the Fulani community bared their minds on how to make it workable.
