Vehicle Colour: Oyo Govt. Grants Commercial Operators Extension |OGBOMOSO INFO|

Commercial operators in Oyo State have been granted an extension of two weeks to comply with the state law instructing them to paint their vehicles in the colour of the state for commercial purposes. The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority, (OYRTMA),Dr Akin Fagbemi stated this while speaking with newsmen in his Office, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.  Dr Fagbemi said the step became necessary due to pleas from commercial operators for their inability to meet up with the two weeks ultimatum earlier granted them across the state. Dr Fagbemi while pleading with the operators to comply within the stipulated time advised them to take advantage of the government’s subsidy on the cost of painting in the agency as against what is obtainable elsewhere.

Coronavirus: NYSC Abruptly Ends Orientation Camp Activities |OGBOMOSO INFO|

The  National Youth Service Corps  (NYSC) has abruptly ended activities at orientation camps across the country. The Batch A orientation camps for graduates started last week, March 10, and were supposed to last for 21 days. Corps members in the camps were, however, shocked when they were told in the middle of the night that the camps had closed and they were all to receive their letters to places of primary assignment. The corps members said they were told this was due to the coronavirus crisis. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 on Tuesday urged Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State to cede the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso to one state and end the joint ownership agreement of the university. Alaafin who gave this advice while receiving members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state Council led by its Chairman, Alhaji Ademola Babalola in his palace, maintained that there is no way two states can manage a university successfully in Nigeria.
