Alao-Akala Remains the Leader of Oyo APC - Fayemi

 Members of Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) rose from a peace meeting in Ibadan, on Sunday, with a resolve to dislodge Governor Seyi Makinde come 2023. Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State made this disclosure on Sunday in his Jericho Ibadan residence after an expanded reconciliation meeting, which he convened. “Former Adebayo Alao-Akala remains the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state. Oyo APC is working assiduously to attain unity with a view to dislodging Governor Seyi Makinde-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)” he said. When told that some members of the party in the state were against Alao-Akala as the leader of Oyo APC, he said the former governor remained the leader of the party, adding that he was not aware of such dissenting voices. “I am not aware of any group. Emir of Zazzau's Death: I have Lost a Good Friend ― Soun of Ogbomoso

   Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, has expressed sadness over the passing of Emir of Zazzau and Chairman of Kaduna State Emirate Council, Alhaji Shehu Idris. Acknowledging his age-long personal relationship with the late Emir, Oba Oyewumi described the deceased as a reliable and dependable friend, adding that the exemplary qualities of the late Emir were worthy of emulation by all leaders.     The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has described the victory of Governor Godwin Obaseki and Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu as well deserved in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election. On Sunday afternoon, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced re-election of Obaseki as governor of Edo State. He polled 307,955 votes in Saturday’s governorship election to defeat his closest rival, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who scored 223,619 votes. Obaseki, who is the incumbent governor of Edo State, won in 13 local government areas to secure his reelection for another term. Ize Iyamu won in 5 local government areas. And efforts to unite the warring factions had been unsuccessful, decapitating the party from playing its opposition role to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Efforts to ensure peace returns to the party started after the 2019 general elections, when the late Isiaq Abiola Ajumobi set up a 16-member reconciliation committee headed by former Governor Adebayo Alao- Akala.   Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, has unveiled Prof. Timothy Adebayo as the new Vice-Chancellor to succeed Prof. Dapo Asaju by end of October. Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, the Chairman of ACU governing council, unveiled the new vice-chancellor on Thursday in Oyo. The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that Adebayo, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, is the 4th vice-chancellor of the university. Olanipekun said that the institution’s governing council had approved the appointment of Adebayo as a successor to Asaju, having satisfied all the requirements of the institutions. TETFUND: Reps drill LAUTECH, Technical University Managements in Ibadan

  Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Account, on Friday, drilled the management of the Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomoso and the Technical University Ibadan over what they call missing links in the deployment of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
