Makinde Promises to Immortalise Alao-Akala

…as VP, govs, others bid farewell to former gov   Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Friday, hailed the late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala as a great man, who recognised and lived his life in accordance with the Biblical teaching that there is a time and a season for everything under the sun.  Makinde, who declared that the state government would immortalise the late former governor, said a committee headed by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, has been put in place to work on how best to honour the late Chief Alao-Akala.     The governor called for suggestions from well-meaning residents of the state. Olowo of Owo endorses Orlando Owoh's biography by Adewuyi Adegbite

  By Sunday Adepoju The Olowo of Owo Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has endorsed a biography authored by a historian and writer, Prince Adewuyi Adegbite, in honour of a foremost Nigerian musician, late Dr Oladipupo Owomoyela (popularly called ‘Orlando Owoh'), for Nigerians across the globe.  Oba Ogunoye made the recommendation at his palace, on Monday, when the author and his team presented the copies of the work to him to mark Orlando Owoh’s 86th posthumous birthday and seek the monarch’s royal blessings for the work.  Begun in 1996, the work, entitled “Orlando Owoh: Life, Times, Music and Messages,” was meant to celebrate the musician’s 50th anniversary on stage in 2008 before he died the same year.  The Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, receiving and blessing the biography of Dr Oladipupo (popularly known as Orlando Owoh)  authored by Prince Adewuyi Adegbite. Alao-Akala: Makinde, Osinbajo, Others To Pay Tributes To Former Oyo Gov

  According to a notice released by the family of Former Gov. Alao Akala, the burial arrangements of the “Oyato governor”, commences tomorrow, Monday 14th February with “Day of Tributes”. Dignitaries, friends and families from all walks of life are expected to be at Jogor Centre, Liberty Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan to express their views on the life of the departed governor. N2.8bn Compensation: Property Owners Along Oyo-Ogbomoso Expressway Protest Non-Payment

Landowners and farmers whose property were claimed by dualisation of Oyo-Ogbomoso section of the Ibadan-Ilorin Expressway have staged a protest over the alleged refusal of the Federal Government to pay about N2.8billion balance of their compensation. According to PUNCH Newspaper, the aggrieved property owners said the N2.8 billion had been outstanding since 2011 hence their decision to stage a protest to make known their grievances. They gathered at Gambari community via Ogbomoso on Wednesday where they stage the protest. The aggrieved property owners in an address signed by Lekan Ajagbe; Tijani Abdulrasheed and Grace Bello, on behalf of others called on the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd), to prevail on the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola ( SAN), to ensure the payment of the balance of their compensation. Oyo Govt Set To Rename LAUTECH

  In its effort to change the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, from a technology university to a conventional university, the Oyo State Government has approved a Bill titled 2022 LAUTECH Amendment Bill, to be forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly. The Bill, which proposes to amend the objectives of the university to accommodate other fields of study and alter its present status as a strictly technology institution, as well as allow it to make provision for workers’ pension scheme, was approved at the Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, indicated that the state’s Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Oyelowo Oyewo, stated these while briefing journalists shortly after the meeting. Singer 9ice, Welcomes Second Child With Wife

  Ogbomoso born, Nigerian singer, Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande popularly known as 9ice, has welcomed his second child with his wife, Olasunkanmi Ajala. The singer took to his Instagram page to declare his love for his wife and also announced the birth of their child. Sharing lovely maternity pictures of himself and his family, he wrote, “ My baby just delivered a baby. Just know that my love for you will last forever.
