How Adeseun Mooted New Federal Poly At Ayede in Ogbomoso Zone

The bill for the establishment of federal Polytechnic, Ayede was mooted in 2011 by Ex-Senator representing Oyo Central in the Senate, Senator Ayoade Adeseun (Solar) who doubled as Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market in the 7th Assembly.

It is important to note that Ayede is a town in Ogo Oluwa Local Government,one out of five local governments in Ogbomoso zone,Oyo state. Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa local government are in Oyo Central Senatorial district while Ogbomoso North,Ogbomoso South and Oriire belong to Oyo North Senatorial District.

In the Punch Newspaper of July 22,2011, Federal Ministry of Education advertised Invitation for Tender for the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso in Oyo state.

FACTS ABOUT THE NEW FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC,AYEDE,OGBOMOSO.

1.The idea of establishing a new Federal Polytechnic at Ayede in Ogbomoso was mooted in 2011 by the then Senator representing Oyo Central in the Senate, Sen Ayo Adeseun.

2.Senator Ayo Adeseun was the Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market in the 7th Assembly.

3.He is from Surulere Local Government,one out of five local governments in Ogbomoso,Oyo state.

4. Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa are in Oyo Central Senatorial District while Ogbomoso North,Ogbomoso South and Oriire belong to Oyo North Senatorial District.

5.Federal Ministry of Education advertised Invitation for Tender for the Federal Poly Ayede Ogbomoso in 2011 in the Punch Newspaper of July 22,2011.

6.However,the Polytechnic suffered setback due to Senator Adeseun’s inability to win the reelection.

7.Senator Buhari Abdulfatai sponsored two bills on education in the 8th Assembly,one on Federal University of Technology and Agriculture,Oke Ogun and Federal Poly Ogbomoso.

8.The two bills were on committee stage when the 8th Assembly round up,so couldnt pass the 3rd Reading of legislative process.
