The newly installed Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III, has assured the residents of Ogbomoso that his reign will usher in developments that will put Ogbomoso in its rightful place.
Oba Olaoye gave the assurance on Thursday during his first official outing as the Soun Ogbomoso.
The monarch urged the aggrieved people to unite with him for the progress and development of the town.
He said “Things will change. Good things such as industries will spring up, not one but many. God will give us many. I don’t talk much, it is action you will see, What did I say? That is what you will see in the name of the Lord.
“What we have come to do in Ogbomoso has started today, the development of Ogbomoso has started today, new glory has started. Things will change. Good things such as industries will spring up, not one but many. God will give us many.”
“We have not come to the throne to make wealth. God has given us wealth; we have not come to make a name, God has given us that. To put Ogbomoso in its rightful place is our goal. I assure you we will make Ogbomoso greater.
Oba Olaoye further stated that his enthronement as the new Soun was a divine arrangement from God. He thanked the kingmakers for their support and cooperation.
In his sermon, an Ogbomoso born, international gospel preacher, bro Gbile Akanni urged the monarch to rule according to the biblical dictates, noting that it is important for all the kingmakers and other neighboring kings to unite with the Soun of Ogbomosoland for development in Ogbomoso zone.
Recalled that Oba Ghandi was installed as the new Soun of Ogbomoso by kingmakers led by the Areago of Ogbomoso, High Chief Solalaje Otolorin, in the early hours of Friday 8th September 2023 and subsequently went into seclusion to observe the 7-day compulsory rites.
Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi, was among the dignitaries at the event.
