Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde on Wednesday, pledged the support of his administration for the smooth take-off of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso, saying that education is a top priority of his administration. The governor, who stated this while receiving members of the Institution’s Governing Council, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, said that he was ready to approve the release of the Government Technical College, Ogbomoso as a temporary site for the take-off of the Institution, added however that the management must give a commitment as to the timeframe within which the institution would be returned to the Permanent Site. He said that the state will support the take-off of the school because it could not wait for it to start fulfilling its quota in the educational sector of the state. Oyo Waste Mgt. Consultant, Mottainai Clears Heaps of Refuse on Ibadan Pedestrian Bridge

  The Oyo State Government Waste Management consultant, Mottainai Recycling Ltd. on Friday cleared heaps of refuse and human excrement at the New Gbagi Pedestrian bridge.   The Managing Director, Mottainai Recycling Ltd, Mr. Adey Adewuyi said the decision to clean pedestrian bridges in the State capital is part of Mottainai's commitment to keep public spaces in Oyo State clean.    He said the bridge has been effectively cleaned up and the Authority has assigned a sweeper to ensure sustainability.   Adewuyi called for public participation in sustaining the Oyo State Government clean environment drive.   “Until recently, this pedestrian bridge was home to the destitute, but henceforth, we will deploy a Special Task Force to flush them out and put an end to the misuse of public infrastructure”, he said.   He said the objective of ensuring the safety of all road users, through the use of pedestrian bridges, must not be neglected.   Adewuyi noted that ...

Oyo Govt. Presents Another 120 Generators to Primary Healthcare Centres

The Oyo State Government on Monday, presented an additional set of One-hundred and twenty (120) generators to primary health facilities in Oyo State.   Recall that on November 8, 2022, the Oyo State Government had presented about 97 generating sets to some PHCs in the state.   The symbolic presentation was done at the Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board, in collaboration with Lanocks construction company.   Speaking at the presentation, the Engineering Technical Lead of PHCs Renovation Committee, Engr.         Late Soun, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi One year has gone like 20 seconds.  Today  12th December, marked exactly one year after  Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade 111, joined his ancestors on December 12, 2021 at the age of 95. The late soun became king on 24th October 1973. H is demise has left a vacuum that is yet to be filled today in Ogbomoso. National Sports Festival: Oyo Finishes 4th As Shooting Stars Win Mmobuosi Super Cup, Get N100m

Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, has congratulated the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and the state’s contingent to the National Sports Festival, Delta 2022, on their respective successes at the weekend. The Oluyole Warriors, as the 3SC is proudly known, won the Nigeria Professional Football League’s Dozy Mmobuosi Super Cup at the weekend and were rewarded with a N100 Million Prize money, while Team Oyo, comprising athletes in different games at the just-concluded National Sports Festival, finished fourth on the medals table.
