COVID-19: Oyo Begins Second Phase of Vaccination

 


The Oyo State government has commenced the administering of the MODERNA vaccine across the 120 vaccination posts in the 33 LGAs of the State.

In a statement signed by the Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. M. B. Olatunji, residents who have not received any of the earlier COVID vaccines. people aged 18 years and older, healthcare workers and other frontline workers who are at a high risk of exposure are eligible to participate in the programme.

The vaccination exercise is temporarily scheduled to commence from Monday 23rd August, 2021.

The statement also included that Senior Citizens with or without underlying health conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension etc can partake in the exercise as well as those with previous records of Covid19 infection but have now recovered.

Steps towards being vaccinated:

1. Register or enrol for the vaccine via the NPHCDA E-Registration portal: https://nphcda.vaccination.gov.ng/

This is to generate a unique vaccination code. You will get an SMS message to confirm your entry.

2. You are to come to the designated vaccination post close to you with the generated unique code number.

3. You will be vaccinated with the first dose of the MODERNA vaccine.

4. The health officer shall then synchronize your data on the National platform

5. Those that shall be coming for the second dose of the Astra Zenical vaccine (at a later time) shall only have their previous card updated and synchronized as fully immunized.

6. You are strongly advised not to mix vaccine for the immunization as each person that has received a vaccine brand will be fully covered with the same vaccine brand.

7. All those vaccinated shall receive a well documented vaccination card with affixed barcode at the back of the card.

8. All are Kindly advised to pre register before coming to the vaccination post to reduce waiting time at the posts and also help reduce crowding.

9. All brands of vaccines including MODERNA Vaccine are Safe and Effective.

10. Please note that vaccination is FREE

“We all have duties to own our actions and deeds. Let’s help push towards achieving Herd Immunity by encouraging all to get vaccinated against Covid19 scourge,” he said.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
