Alayede of Ayede, Oba Solademi Akanni Adewuyi II has joined his ancestors.
This was confirmed through a letter by the Alayede Royal family, signed by its secretary, Prince Adepoju Adekanmi Sunday, and dated October 19, addressed to the chairman of Ogo-Oluwa local government, Mr. Seun Ojo, and another to the Ogo-Oluwa local government traditional council.
The letter titled,” The notification of the demise of Alayede of Ayedeland,” states, “With a heavy heart but gratitude to God Almighty, we, the Alayede Royal Family of Ogo-Oluwa local government of Oyo state, hereby notify you of the demise of our royal father, HRM, Oba Solademi Akanni Adewuyi II.”
According to a source, Oba Adewuyi passed on last Friday, October 15, at the age of 84 years. He had been sick for about four years.
But the announcement had to be delayed in line with tradition.
Late Oba Adewuyi had several legacies in Ayede such as establishment of a government secondary school in 2011 (Ayede Community Grammar School), establishment of a federal polytechnic and elevation as Oba.
His funeral programme will hold between December 22 and 24 later this year.
