Ogbomoso kingmakers, also known as the Ilus, have forwarded the name of a US-based businessman and pastor with Redeemed Christian Church of God, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, for approval as the Soun of Ogbomosoland.
According to a source, the name of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye was conveyed to the governor by the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon Kabiru Akanji Ayoade, by the Oyo State Chiefs Law.
He emerged as Soun-elect following the interview conducted for 25 candidates on Tuesday, by the kingmakers.
The stool of Soun became vacant following the demise of Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi Soun Ajagungbade 111 on the 12th of December 2021 at the ripe age of 95.
