NPC Trains Personnel, Set to Commence Trial Census in Oyo | Ogbomoso Info

 







 

The National Population Commission (NPC) in Oyo State, has started training field personnel for the trial census in the state.


According to a statement released by the Public Affairs Officer of NPC, Mrs. Priscillia Sawe, the training is in continuation of preparations for the conduct of the 2023 Population and Housing Census in the state.



She said: “The National Population Commission has commenced State Level Training Workshop for field personnel to be engaged for the trial census from Monday, June 27 to Friday, July 8.


“The 12-day training, which is taking place at the ITD Coding Room, NPC State Office in Ibadan, is to equip field functionaries with the required skills to effectively and efficiently deliver of the exercise.


“Facilitators, supervisors and enumerators drawn mainly from communities within the selected areas have been carefully selected for the trial census through an online recruitment process”, she stated.


The NPC spokesperson said the trial census would be conducted from July 11 to 24, while the house numbering would take place from July 11 to 16, followed by validation of the enumeration area frame from July 17 to 19, and enumeration of persons from July 20 to 24.


“The trial census, which is a dress rehearsal, is to evaluate all aspects of the census operations before the main census on a limited scale”, she added.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
