Ninety - nine new nursing graduates of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, were this morning admitted through induction into the nursing profession, by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Oaths were administered on the newly inducted nurses by Registrar of NMCN, Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar, who officially announced increase in admission quota of LAUTECH for Bachelor of Nursing Science, from 75 to 150.
He admitted that the University has been a dependable ally in the training of Nursing in Nigeria, admonishing Management of the Institution not to go down on quality of training.
Earlier in his address at the ceremony, Acting Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, had identified the commitment of Visitor to the University and Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, along with that of the Governing Council as the driving voice.
In thanking the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Kalilu said the University has the capacity to train more nurses than 150; thereby soliciting for increase of admission quota to 200.
