Makinde Inaugurates 27 man Steering Committee for 2021-2040 Dev. Plan

 



Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State today, inaugurated a Steering Committee for the Oyo State Development Plan 2021-2040, made up of 27 seasoned professionals.


The steering Committee was inaugurated today at the Executive Council’s Chamber, Governor’s Office.


Governor Makinde said, this is a follow up to his campaign manifesto, adding that “we have been working with our campaign manifesto, the Road Map to Accelerated Development 2019-2023”.


He stated further that the Oyo State Development Plan 2021-2040 is a long-term plan that looks beyond his administration.


“We also, have incorporated a medium-term Sectorial Strategic Plan 2021-2025. The development plan is a strategic document that will provide policy direction for the Oyo State Government”, he added




The plan rests on four pillars: Economic Development Pillar, Human Capital and Social Development Pillar, Infrastructure Development Pillar and Physical Planning and Sustainable Environment Pillar.


In addition, the Oyo state Government also have the Central Working Committee and 28 Technical Working groups with over 300 seasoned professionals and bureaucrats (state and non-state actors).


“Also, we have 30 technical resource persons with 25 Professors and 5 Associate Professors to serve as experts to the technical working groups. Finally, we have 7 independent reviewers”, he concluded.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
