Recently some islamic devotees invaded some mission schools where muslim students were said to be denied of wearing the Hijab and subsequently, the government also announced that it has allowed any student who wish to wear it on their school uniform to go ahead.
Sequel to this announcement, the Christian body in the state came out to challenge the government on the account of nepotism and margination. In a speech read by the Kwara state Baptist Conference president of the Nigerian Baptist convention some weeks ago, he claimed that when the government made a bargain to take over missionary schools, there was a clause according to the law that the church also will be a partner in progress! Meaning that there was no total handing over!
To show her grievances, the Christian body proceeds to protest against the government decision, which is in line with the law, but while exercising their civil rights, some acclaimed Islamic terrorists (who some may claim they are not representing what Islam stand for) waylaid them and assaulted the peaceful protestants. They burnt down their vehicles, destroyed church buildings and school properties.
It is a shame that we are still experiencing something very bad like this in this 21st century. It is very barbaric and very satanic.
THE WAY FORWARD
It is more advisable for the government to look for a lasting solution or better still return all the mission schools back to their original owners to avoid the state of anarchy and the breaking down of law and order. Please note that no Man has monopoly of Violence!
