Makinde signs Executive order for protection of Mining Communities

The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has signed the executive orders for the establishment of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the protection of mining communities.

Governor Makinde while signing the executive orders at the Conference Room of Governor's Office, Secretariat, Ibadan, noted that mining is on the exclusive list of the Federal Government.

He said the State however has a responsibility to protect the mining communities from insecurity and undue exploitation.

Governor Makinde also hinted that the State ministry of Information and Orientation would now have civic orientation duties added to its functions.

He also declared that the newly established Ministry of Culture and Tourism which was created from the Ministry of Information & Orientation, is in line with the State roadmap for sustainable development 2023-2027.
