Oyo NSCDC Gets New Commandant, Adaralewa Takes Over From Iskilu

 



The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has welcomed a new commandant to the Command Headquarters, Old Nitel building Agodi, Ibadan on Tuesday.

The newly posted commandant, Mr. Adaralewa Michael Akintayo takes over from Commandant Iskilu Abiodun Akinsanya who has been redeployed to Delta State Command as their new commandant after an active and memorable one year and ten months in Oyo State.

Commandant Akinsanya expressed his appreciation to the government and good people of Oyo State for the encouragement given to him and appeal to them to stretch the same hand of fellowship to his successor.

In his first briefing with officers and men of Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Adaralewa Michael Akintayo made it known to officers and men that his deployment to Oyo State Command is necessary to compliment the good work done so far by the former commandant who had been redeployed to Delta State.

Meanwhile, after he inspected the quarter guards, met with all heads of Department and Units where he enjoined them to be disciplined and dedicated to duty especially in their commitment towards riding the state of all forms of criminality to engender peace and tranquility.

Commandant Adaralewa while sending a note of warning to criminal elements in the state to vacate Oyo State, sought the support of all stakeholders in the state to enable him succeed like Commandant Akinsanya.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael was formerly Commandant Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Department at the National Headquarters before his redeployment to Oyo Command.

He is an educator in CBRNE Emergency Response, detection and response, providing training and motivation for front-line officers.

Commandant Adaralewa Michael who is also a FBI-trained Post Blast investigator, hails from Ekiti state.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
