Ogbomoso Records First Cases of COVID-19 |Ogbomoso Info



Oyo state has recorded cases of coronavirus in the Ogbomoso zone as the state records eight new cases on Friday.
The governor, who made the announcement in a series of tweets, revealed that the new cases were parts of the pending COVID-19 confirmation tests conducted in the state.
According to him, Two tests came back positive on Thursday, April 30th while another eight tests came back positive on Friday, May 1st, 2020.
In the tweet, the governor revealed that one of the two cases recorded on Thursday is a UCH doctor who returned from Kano while the other case is a worker with the State Security Service.
He added that six of the eight new cases recorded on Friday were Togolese nationals while the remaining two were residents of the state in Ogbomoso.
“We have started receiving results of pending COVID-19 confirmation tests. Two tests came back positive late last night. One from a UCH doctor who returned from Kano and another is a worker with the State Security Service.
“Another eight tests came back positive today. Of the eight newly confirmed cases, six are Togolese nationals and the remaining two are Oyo State residents in Ogbomoso.
“In addition to the case recorded in Lagos which was announced yesterday, another confirmed case recorded in Kano is also being managed in Oyo State. This brings the number of active cases in Oyo State to twenty,” the governor’s tweet reads at 11:39 p.m on Friday night.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
