Gov Makinde has become a reference point of good governance in Nigeria - Ogbomoso South LG Boss, Oyedokun Oyeniyi

Executive Chairman, Ogbomoso South local government area of Oyo State, Hon Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy on Saturday, has noted that Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi Makinde has become a reference point of good governance in Nigeria.

He made it known that Governor Seyi Makinde led administration success in the education sector, Health, Workers Welfare, Sport, Transport, Infrastructure among others has become headache for other states governor if it would be used as yardstick to measure the achievements.

Oyedokun maintained that despite the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic and it's aftermath, Governor Makinde remained focused and he has leveraged the setback to improve the health care system which he said the benefits have been evident across the 33 local government areas in the state.

He also expressed the confidence that, going by the performance of Engr Seyi Makinde administration in the last two years in office, the future is, indeed, bright for the state.

A statement by the Media Aide to the Chairman, Femi Ajiboye, quoted Oyedokun, as also appreciating residents of the state for the trust they have reposed in Engr Seyi Makinde led administration which he said was evident as the PDP won all the Chairmanship and Councillorship seats in the just concluded local government election thereby returning democracy to the grassroots level.

Furthermore, he said the present administration has, in two years, kept up with the promise of prompt payment of salaries and pensions for civil and public servants on the 25th of every month and sometimes, earlier, as well as ensuring the payment of more outstanding gratuities for retired civil servants in the past two years than the previous administration paid in eight years.

The Council boss, however, urged the people to keep supporting the governor's administration, with a promise to build on the good strides of the Governor at the local government level as he congratulated the governor on the occasion of his two years in the saddle of leadership in Oyo State.
