Eid-El-Kabir: Oyo NSCDC Deploys 2500 Officers

 


As Muslims all over the world prepare to celebrate of Eid-el-Kabir festivity, the commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State, Michael Adaralewa, has directed all the area commanders, divisional officers, Agro Rangers, Counter Terrorism Unit and Disaster Management Unit, as part of 2500 officers deployed for the festive period, to be positioned at all Eid praying grounds, recreational parks, motor parks and other places of interest.

This is to ensure adequate security by the civil defence personnel for a hitch-free celebration.

He made this known on Thursday while addressing the management on operational order for the 2021 celebration, at the state command headquarters at Agodi, Ibadan, according to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Olusegun Oluwole, a Chief Superintendent.

Adaralewa also called on the state residents to celebrate moderately and take all necessary preventive measures, as COVID-19 is still very much around. 

He added that they should continue to wash their hands, use nose masks when in public and maintain a clean environment.

“All officers and men of the Corps will be deployed, both in uniform and undercover, to all-flash spots in the state, in order to protect lives and property of the citizens of Oyo State,” he said.

The Commandant also enjoined the residents to feel free and celebrate without any fear from any quarters.

Wishing the Muslims faithful in the State happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Commandant appealed to the public to always report any suspicious person or persons to the nearest security agency before the crime would be committed.

He also admonished them to avoid giving false information.

Adaralewa reassured on the command’s zero tolerance to vandalism of critical national asset security in the state, saying that his administration would continue to fight any individual or groups that would want to disrupt the relative peace being enjoyed in the state before, during and after the celebration.

He also called on parents and guardians to educate their children on the dangers involved in engaging in vandalism and other negative vices.
