Former Governor of Oyo state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has declared that the party will not impose those who will lead the party at various levels in the state.
The Ogbomoso-born politician also assured that women will be given optimum priority in the scheme of things at all levels of participation in Politics by the All Progressives Congress.
Alao-Akala gave this hint at a stakeholders meeting of the leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress on the forthcoming party Congress scheduled to commence in the 3rd week of July, held at Lafia hotel, Apata, Ibadan.
The former Governor, who is also the chairman Elders Advisory Council of the party in Oyo state while admonishing party stakeholders in the need to ensure a crisis free urged all relevant stakeholder to guide against infiltration from the opposition.
He said the agenda of the opposition PDP is to throw spanners of confusion into the scheme of things in the A.P.C.
“I can tell you categorically that we have become as a major threat to the P.D.P in Oyo state.
“There is serious confusion amongst them.
“Our unity has become an headache to them, the never expected us to come together and form a formidable force that we all see today.
“Take for example the local government meeting of Ibadan North local government, it caught them unawares.
“The turn out was super impressive.
“Go to ATISBO in Oke Ogun area of the state, it is the same success story.
“The report of our registration excersise which is still ongoing is another success story.
“With all these and many more successes too numerous to mention, it behoves on us to be mindful of our actions at every given time.
“We cannot afford to jeopardize this fragile opportunity we have at hand.
“The PDP is seriously rattled by our deft political moves.
“They plan to infiltrate our camp, they want to destabilize us.
“They plan to use every available opportunity to turn the table against us and we must not allow them.
“We should eshew violence and discord in the forthcoming Congress, we should allow a level playing ground in choosing who will steer the ship of the party as executives.
“We will not allow imposition, we will not allow thuggery and brigandige, we will not allow any form of violence.
“We will lead by example.
“Look at the array of worthy leaders we parade within the rank of our party, it shows we are the party to beat come 2023.
“We are the main headache and concern of the PDP hence we should be guided.
“We should not bungle this opportunity,” he added.
Speaking further, Alao-Akala called on women in the party to come out and vie for both party positions and elective positions as the party in the state will give priority to the female agenda.
“Women should come out en-mass, your participation is very important at this stage.
“We will give priority to your participation in the coming cingress elections.
“Don’t shy away and don’t feel intimidated.
“The party is ready to accommodate you and encourage your inclusion he declared,” he concluded.
