The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde and his Osun State counterpart, Mr Gboyega Oyetola met on Wednesday in Abuja to find lasting solution to the crisis rocking the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (Lautech) Ogbomoso.

“Today, my colleague, Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State & I met in Abuja on the way forward for Lautech .
“We agreed to set up a 10-man committee drawn from both states to further analyse the issues and come up with various options that would finally lay the matter to rest.”
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso(Lautech) is jointly own by the Osun and Oyo state governments. In 1987, Governor Adetunji Olurin, the then Military Governor of Oyo State (now split into two states: Oyo and Osun), received a request from the Governing Council of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to establish a State University. He set up a committee in 1988, that recommended the creation of the University. By March 13, 1990, Nigeria’s federal military government accepted the State’s request. The edict establishing Oyo State University of Technology was signed on April 23, 1990 by Colonel.
