Oyo state government gives South Africa returnees who are indigenes of Oyo state token, pledge to empower them

Oyo state government has pledged to carry out a need assessment exercise and proper profiling for each of the returnees from South Africa who are Oyo state indigenes to properly resettle them.

The Deputy Governor Engr. Rauf Olaniyan disclosed this while receiving thirty two Oyo state indigenes and 2 children returnees from South Africa at the state secretariat.

The Deputy Governor also disclosed that the state government being sensitive to their plights and as a welfarist government had decided to give each of the returnees the sum of thirty thousand naira to assist them with personal contingencies while settling down.

The chairman and CEO, Nigeria disapora commission, Mrs Erewa Abike Dabiri who was represented by her director of media Abdulramon Balogun said the federal government remained committed to taking care of all Nigerians irrespective of where they were across the world noting that government would now embark on reorientation, reintegration and empowerment of the returnees.

Executive secretary, Oyo state emergency management agency (SEMA), Lukman Arasi assured the returnees that the current Oyo state government led by Seyi Makinde would ensure their adequate resettlement equally assist them with jobs.

In their various remarks, some of the returnees appreciated the state government for its concern and appeal for employment.
