Oyo Govt. Constitutes Committee On Waste Management |OGBOMOSO INFO|

Oyo State Government has set up a working committee on waste management to tackle indiscriminate dumping of refuse in and around the state.
The committee comprises representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Oyo State Solid Waste Management Authority, the newly appointed Local Government Chairmen and LCDAs, and Health Management Officers (HMOs).

At a Stakeholders meeting held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat Agodi ,Ibadan where far reaching resolutions were made, Commissioner for Environment, Mr Kehinde Ayoola appealed to people to cooperate with the new waste disposal architecture taking off in the state.

Mr Kehinde Ayoola revealed that the government had put measures in place to check defaulters.

The new Consultant to the State Government on Waste Disposal Scheme, Mr Idowu Salau stated that the new template of the state government was to involve Private Investors on waste which is tagged “CLEAN AND GREEN”

Mr Salau explained that the government intended to create wealth from waste to boost revenue generation in the state.
