The screening exercise for the recruitment into Oyo State Security Network codenamed ‘Amotekun Corps’ in the Ogbomoso axis commenced on Wednesday.
Hundreds of applicants gathered at the Soun Township Stadium in Ogbomoso.
The recruitment exercise is part of the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde’s led administration toward strengthening the security system in the state, especially in the red zone areas.
According to the report, pertinent information was asked from participants and other security tips.
Some participants include Members of the Odua People’s Congress OPC, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Agbekoya, and others.
Findings also revealed there are appreciable numbers of youths who show interest to be recruited for Amotekun Corps.
The screening exercise is mainly for four local government areas in Ogbomoso, Ogbomoso North; South Oriire; Ogo -Oluwa, and Surulere which started on Wednesday and will end on Friday this week.
Recall that Ogbomoso town and its environs in recent times faced security challenges in which the recruitment of new corps is curbed or reduced nefarious activities of kidnappers in the zone.
