"The Government of the State of Osun is eager and ready to lay to rest all issues relating to its stake and responsibility to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH. All that is left is for Oyo State to come to the discussion table."Mrs. Funke Egbemode, the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation for the State of Osun made this known in a press statement in Osogbo.
According to Egbemode, whether Osun and Oyo States will retain their joint ownership of the institution or divest their stakes can only be resolved at a roundtable. “All we want is what’s best for this great University and the students who are Nigeria’s leaders-in-waiting. Osun does not think the issues at stake, here should be left to fester any further. They can be resolved and should be resolved. However, since it will take the two owner-states to do what needs to be done, the time come to the negotiation table is now. Osun is ready to discuss.
We inaugurated a Committee on this matter last year. We are only waiting for Oyo State to meet us halfway.
