Coronavirus: Ogbomosoland Muslim Community Leads Fight, Suspends Jumu'ah Prayers |OGBOMOSO INFO|






The Muslim community of Ogbomosoland has announced the suspension of its weekly Friday (Jumu'ah) prayers effective from March 27, in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus popularly called COVID-19.

Dr. Imam A.Y. Ashafa Sanusi, the chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, disclosed this in a statement he issued on Thursday, March 26.

The Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, , Dr. Imam A.Y. Ashafa Sanusi in a release he personally signed and sighted by OgbomosoInfo, noted that the suspension would take effect on Friday, March 27.

He said: "Asalamu llahi alaykum!
This is to informed the general public of Muslims Ummah that the Congregational Friday Prayers in all Mosque of Ogbomosoland & it's environ tomorrow 27th of March, 2020 is SUSPENDED, due to the ongoing spread of CORONAVIRUS pandemic and because of the directive given by the Oyo State Government.

"May Almighty Allah 🙏 Protect all the Muslims Ummah both home and abroad, Bijahi Muhammad Rosulullah (s.a.w).

Recall that Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde on monday place a ban on gatherings such as religious services, weddings, parties, burial ceremonies and so on, gatherings should be limited to 30 persons or less. and that nightclubs will have to remain closed. These measures will be reviewed in two weeks.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
