Takie-Ogbomoso Road Was Not Properly Constructed, Is Captured In 2020 Budget - Oyo Works Commissioner |OGBOMOSO INFO|




The Commissioner of Public Works,Infrastructure and Transport in Oyo State, Prof. Raphael Afonja has stated authoritatively that the Takie-Ogbomoso road has been captured in the 2020 budget of the pacesetter state.

He said this on Saturday in an interactive program on Fresh FM, Ibadan while answering questions on the park management system and state of roads in Oyo state.

Afonja also added that the Takie-Ogbomoso road was not properly constructed by the past administration of Senator  Abiola Ajimobi. He noted that previous government did not pay compensation to people that their properties was demolished.

Professor Afonja gives kudos to the minister of Youth and Sports development, Hon. Sunday Dare for his patriotism by repairing the takie roundabout.

The Ogbomoso-Born Commissioner said "Takie-Ogbomoso road is a federal road that cross through the state and before they starts the repair, We should have been contacted but that wasn't the case. I must commend the man (Sunday Dare). I belief in patriotism. He is being patriotic, but let me add that the road has been captured in 2020 budget and it is being work on"

"Takie road is part of the 8 roads in 6 zones of Oyo state that is captured in the first of road construction in the 2020 budget. It will be work on, let me also add that the road in question was constructed six years ago and the road is not properly constructed, it was use to siphon money from the government pocket. If you look at one side of the road that goes to Federal government college, we have alot of trailers and trucks while the other of the road that goes to Ogbomoso Grammar School, we don't have trailers and trucks. The road is not properly done, I visited the road, the road has damaged.

"The compensation of that road of over 300 million naira has been paid to the contractor by previous government but did not get to the peope that have properties along those roads, that is what we meet on ground." He said.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
