FOGSU Suspend National President, Appoints Acting President



The Federation of Ogbomoso Students Union (Senate Arm) National Council Sitting at Baptist Grammar School, Ahoyaya, Ogbomoso,has suspended the National President Comrade Oguntoye Amos indefinitely.

  The motion of his suspension was raised by Sen. Suleiman Olasunkanmi from University of Ilorin and it was seconded by Sen. Gbadegesin Ayobami, the Senate President object the motion but the Senators chorused " let him go".

According to the Press release issued by the Senate President and made available to ogbomosoinfo.tk . The allegations levied against him includes misappropriation of fund, bibery, rendering of the power of the mace useless among others

Okediji stated that "Today is the second time the house had sent for the  suspended President on some allegations levied against him, there were some enormous amount of money that was acrued to his office of which he mismanaged, the house had been calling but he was giving untenable excuses.
*Violation of the National constitution: it was stipulated in the Union constitution that all Union programs will at the onset be ratified by the Senate, till this moment, the National President has been carrying out many of his activities without the endorsement of the Senate, we called upon him but failed to answer till date."

"Rendering of the power of the mace useless: it was stipulated in the constitution that the  Senate power is vested over Union external elections of which FOSSU election is ONE, The house ratified the delegates to represent Ogbomoso Zone, the delegates were present yesterday 07/09/2019 at College of Agriculture, Igboora to represent the interest of Federation Of Ogbomoso Student Union as the Senate has bestowed on them, the delegated power confirmed by the Senate and the Executive, the delegates list was  countersigned by both the  Suspended National President and the Senate President of  which the FOGSU National President went to the venue to change/doctored the delegates list different from the one that was both countersigned by him and the Senate President, even with a different letterhead paper which the Union General Secretary attested to it that he knew nothing about the letterhead paper the President brought, the Senators see this as a complete disobedience and negligence to the FOGSU National constitution, and also it is a slap on FOGSU National at large."

"Bribery: Some Senators raised a very cogent and keen observation on the way the Suspended National President is collecting money on behalf of the Union from FOSSU National aspirants within our Zone and other zones, it's a morally and ethically condemnable".

" On this note, the Suspended National President has been mandated to handover the Union properties in his custody to the Acting President, Comr. Adeleke Damilare Adetoyese in the next 24hours. And respond in black and white to aforementioned allegations within 72hours of handing over".

The Speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
