The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), wishes to inform the general public of the partial closure of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, from today, 2nd September 2019 till 31st October, 2019 for the commencement of reconstruction and rehabilitation works on the expressway.
The affected road portion would be closed from Kara Bridge inward Berger and from Berger inward Kara Bridge which amounts to about 1.4kilometers of the 127.6kilometers road length.
However, alternative routes have been mapped out with immense contributions from our sister agency, the Lagos State Road Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
The alternative routes announced for road users are:
*Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway from/to Abeokuta connecting from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
*Sagamu-Ikorodu Road from/to Sagamu connecting via Sagamu Interchange from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
*Ijebu-Ode – Itoikin Road from/to Ijebu-Ode connecting from/to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Recall that Julius Berger, the company handling the construction of that section of the road, had previously announced plans to close the road in August but the closure was postponed due to the Muslim Eid-el-Kabir celebration and other religious activities scheduled around the period.
During this period, our men would be deployed to the relevant sections of the road for guiding commuters and our hotline (+234811 439 0097) and social media outlets shall be active and be at the service of all.
Drive safely.
