The election petition tribunal sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has dismissed the petition of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in March 9, 2019 governorship election, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu against the victory of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The Justice Sirajo Mohammed led tribunal ruled that the petitioners were not able to proof over voting and did not substantiate claim of non compliance with the electoral act 2010 as amended.
Not satisfied after studying results in units, wards and local government area, Adelabu had gone to court to challenge Makinde’s victory.
After many weeks of legal fireworks, the guber election petition tribunal recently accepted the final written addresses filed by Makinde, Adelabu, PDP and INEC.
Apart from lawyers and those who have genuine business to do within the premises, those who were granted access were screened.
Reports gathered that the judges commenced reading of the judgement around 10:15 am.
