Meet Dayo Okeniyi, Hollywood Star From Ogbomoso |OGBOMOSO INFO|



If you've seen popular movie, 'Hunger Games' then this face might not seem so alien to you. Raised in Lagos Nigeria, Dayo Okeniyi who's began acting in the theatre at his elementary school. In 2003 Okeniyi, the youngest of five siblings, moved from Nigeria with his family to the United States.


Oladayo A. "Dayo" Okeniyi (born June 14, 1988) is a Nigerian American actor, popularly known for playing the role of Thresh in The Hunger Games and Danny Dyson in Terminator Genisys. Dayo was born in Jos and grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, and has four siblings. His father,Ezekiel Okeniyi is a retired customs officer from Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and his mother,Elizabeth Okeniyi is a literature teacher from Kenya. In 2003, he moved with his family to Indiana, United States, from Nigeria and later moved to California.

He earned a bachelor's degree in visual communications at Anderson University (Indiana) in 2009.After College, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting, his true passion.

Dayo began his professional career in 2010. In 2012, he had a breakout film role as Thresh in The Hunger Games. He made a guest appearance on The Wendy Williams Show in 2012. In 2013, he played Alec in the television show Revolution and in 2014, he played Mace in Endless Love. In 2016 he began appearing in the TV series Shades of Blue. He played supporting roles in the 2013 films Runner, Runner and Cavemen.  He is probably the first Nigerian actor to be shot by Jennifer Lopez.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
