Ajimobi's Ex- Photographer, Tolani Alli Get The Future Awards |OGBOMOSO INFO|





Miss Tolani Alli,the former official photographer of Ex-Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who also doubles as daughter of immediate past secretary to the state government of Oyo State, Alhaji Olalekan Alli, has won The Future Awards 2019 Prize for photography.

According to the Future Awards, Tolani is “a trailblazer who is unapologetic in redefining what it means to be a global citizen.”

The Future Awards is the biggest and most prestigious youth award programme in Africa.

Tolani, 27, who dumped medicine for photography, came to light when she worked with former governor Abiola Ajimobi as documentary photographer.

 Tolani Alli was appointed early this year as official photographer to vice-president Yemi Osinbajo.

The acclaimed documentary photographer whose images and stories have been featured on BBC News, World Press, The Guardian (U.K), Bella Naija and more, had been commissioned as a freelance photographer by The Guardian (UK) on a special report on the oil spill in the Niger Delta.

Additionally, Tolani was the first African enrolled in the debut of World Press Photo Noor Images and Danish School of Photojournalism/Media Documentary Program, which she completed with honors.

While this role has historically had limited female representation, she battles hard to push for more gender equality and prides herself as a proponent of equity in her profession. A distinguished alumni of The University of Michigan, she credits her photography journey to a chance interest in a camera after watching an Aston Kutcher Canon commercial while battling a grave illness. As her true passion for photography emerged, she transformed from being medical school bound to becoming obsessed with photography and telling stories with her lens.

Tolani Alli continues to be a trailblazer and unapologetic in redefining what it means to be Nigeria, American, African and global citizen.

In delivering the keynote presentation at The World Renowned Fearless Photographers Conference In Split, Croatia, she challenged the crowd to open up itself to a new African narrative and showing the importance of photography in doing so.

Her bold and visionary approach leaves little explanation as to why she was recently named in the top 30 of 100 of the most influential young Nigerians

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
