The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde visited the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, today.
Makinde received warm reception by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Michael Ologunde, the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Azeem Ige, the President LAUTECH Students' Union (17/18,18/19), Abiodun Oluwaseun (Laurel), and other principal officers, the institution stakeholders and students and general public
Upon arrival, the Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde have a meeting with the principal officers of the institution.
Governor Makinde who has been in the forefront of moves by the Oyo state government to secure a sole ownership of the institution, is visiting the institution for the first time since he was sworn in on May 29th, 2019.
However, it was gathered that Makinde, during the visitation, will equally hold talks with stakeholders, with a view to finding lasting solutions to the peace of the institution.
It would be recalled that the lecturers of the institution, last week, had embarked on a warning strike to protest the continued indebtedness of Osun state to the university as well as delayed payment of their salaries.
