Sunday Dare Donates ICT Equipment To LAUTECH, Promise Upgrade Of The University's Sports Complex |OGBOMOSO INFO|








The Minister of Youths and Sports development, Mr Sunday Dare has donated ultra modern laptops and other equipment to the ICT department of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

The equipment worth about six million naira according to the Minister would aid the quick process of transcripts to the Alumna and Alumnae of the institution.

The Minister who after delivering the 13th annual lecture of the LAUTECH Alumni titled "Constructive Youths Partnerships in the Nigeria Project:  A sustainable Model", visited the university’s sports complex and promised to upgrade the facility to Olympic standard.

He also pledged to fast track the construction of the access road to the complex while some of his allies will commence work on the renovation and upgrade of the basketball court with immediate effect.

During the lecture, Dare called for urgent attention in Youth Investment from all stakeholders especially government in critical sectors to make for the sustainable stablilization of the Nigerian Project.

The bankable investments in education, technology, agriculture and developmental infrastructure sustained according to him would be the way to go as a wise form of investment for the emancipation of Nigerian Youths.

He said the issues straining full adherence to national ethos in nepotism, lack of patriotism and rolling petrol wealth all which the Youth if invested wisely in will change as a major resource for national prosperity.

The Guest Speaker used the occasion to enumerate the plans of the federal government in the revised National Youth Policy (2019-2023) with 11 key thematic areas of sports, Education, science and technology, agriculture, environment, drug abuse, Health among others.

The Minister also volunteered to be hosting LAUTECH Alumni reunion annually in Lagos.

In his response,  the global president of LAUTECH Alumni association,  Solomon Onilede,  commended Dare for counting LAUTECH worthy to benefit from his phillantropic gesture.

He added that LAUTECH in the time past have produced a lot  of experts that have displayed their talents to serve the country.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
