Makinde, Olubadan,Akala,Ajimobi For Oba Oyediran's 20th Coronation Anniversary |OGBOMOSO INFO|






It is exactly 20 years ago that the history was made in Ijeru City of Onpetu Kingdom, Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State when Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran was presented with the staff of office as Onpetu of Ijeru.

A statement released from the Onpetu Palace by the Press Secretary to the monarch,Peter Olaleye shows that the 20th coronation Anniversary celebration of Oba Oladapo Oyediran, the Onpetu of Ijeru will witness the presence of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde; former Governors, including Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, among other eminent people.

Our correspondent reports that the one week event will commence on Friday 13th and ends on Wednesday 18th December, 2019, just as the grand finale will be held at Methodist Basic School, Arowomole, Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

Paramount rulers and first class Obas in Yorubaland such as Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, among other monarchs will join the train of Crown Kings expected to felicitate with their royal colleague, joining thousands of sons and daughters as well as relative of the Onpetu kingdom to add colours to the coronation anniversary.

The statement however identifies the significance of the event that it will be held to appreciate the Almighty God who has been with him and family over the years of ascension to the throne.

NECO releases 2022 SSCE external results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the registrar of NECO, broke the news on Thursday in Minna, the capital of Niger state. The 2022 SSCE for external candidates was held from November 21 to December 21. The NECO registrar said a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, with 31,316 males, representing 52.96 per cent, while 27,808, representing 47.03 per cent, were female. He said 58,012 candidates sat for the English Language with 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent, getting credit and above. According to Wushishi, the number of candidates who wrote Mathematics is 57,700, out of which 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent, got credit and above. He also disclosed that 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20%, got five credits and above — irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
