Rovers FC Of Calabar Defeat Crown FC |OGBOMOSO INFO|







Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso lost to Rovers Football Club of Calabar at the UJ Esuene Stadium yesterday 30th November, 2019 in the Week Two (2) fixtures of the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Two (2) unreplied goals in the eleventh (11th) and sixty third (63rd) minutes by Fabby Clark and Omini Fabian were all the homers needed to coast home the three (3) maximum points at stake thereby putting smiles on the faces of their very scanty fans and sparse spectators.

It was a very good game to watch as both sides displayed better their skills, tactics and technics.

Taiwo Rafiu's mark on Olayande Austin gave the homers a free kick which was well curved by Otem Innah,the Captain for the side, and perfectly headed by Clark Fabby out of the reach of goal keeper Kolawole Oladipo to put the host on the lead.

The very tall defenders of the host checked mated the deadly striker of the Ajilete Warriors, Abbey Thompson, as well as his cunny strides thus disallowing any equaliser from the guests inspite of Wale Farayola and Adeyemi Adeyeye's deadly moves until the centre referee,Iboko George from Ebonyi State, signalled the end of the first half.

The Ajilete Warriors resumed the concluding part of the game full of energy with Muazu Taiwo connecting Sunday Odudu and Wale Farayola at the flanks but James Solomon and Innah Otem were able to curtail their antics.

The pressure became very intense on the homers but all efforts to level up the score line yielded no positive results.

The fatigued safe hands of the Soun Boys, Kola Oladipo, who could hardly kick the ball at a point in the course of the game did well to clinically save a one on one situation which resulted from a faulty header by Edoka Owoicho that would have increased the tally earlier into the resumption of the last lap.

The second goal that disarmed the Ajilete Warriors came when Omini Fabian did so well by connecting well with a header from a kick by James Solomon in the sixty third (63rd) minute which hit the inner part of the cross bar and dropped behind the goal line to double the lead for the host.

"It was a lost and win game. As you can see that we came into the game very late because of the fatigue. We left home Thursday but sadly arrived Calabar at 2:43 this morning because of vehicle issues. We appreciate God for His mercies on us. We will put this behind us and prepare adequately for our next games", Kola Oladipo said.
