Empowerment or Abandonment: Fatai Buhari's ICT Center Under Lock and Key In Ogbomoso South. |OGBOMOSO INFO|

Senator AbdulFatai Buhari is a man of integrity, that has contributed to the human development through his various empowerment and humanitarian schemes since he ventured into active politics, but it is strange and embarrassing that he abandoned his constituency project that could have been utilized for the great benefit of youths and students of Ogbomoso South Local Government  Area of Oyo State, in this digital age.

In 2003, BAF as popularly called put smile on the faces of people(parents and students) through the scholarship scheme for his constituency.
He paid the National Examination Council (NECO)fees for all the SSS 3 students in Ogbomoso South,North,Orire Federal Constituency when he was   representing the constituency at the green chamber in Abuja, an effort which is laudable and great. This gesture suppose to be consolidated in this era.

Buhari,The Chairman,Senate Committee of ICT and Cybercrime, built an ICT center during his first tenure as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the building is sited on a piece of land at The Apostolic Church Grammar School,Ajegunle,Ogbomoso but investigations carried out  by  WWW.OGBOMOSOINFO.TK reveal that since the completion of the edifice in 2016 during his  first tenure at the red chamber, there is  no tangible progress in terms of equipping the center with any suitable gadgets. Therefore the building has become another white-elephant project. The building has been under lock and key since completion and  has become shelter for reptiles.

The ICT Center should be open to serve its basic purposes, the distinguish Senator should as a matter of urgency complete the good work he facilitated some years ago in order to help alot of indigent students whose parent cannot afford to pay a dim for their training in ICT. If this center is utilize fully it will serve as a medium of digital empowerment and enlightenment for youths and students of  Ogbomoso South.

The center can be equipped with functional computers and ICT training gadgets, fortified with trainers in ICT who can educate and impact practical skills on youths and students in Ogbomoso south, such as basic computer concepts, Windows Operating System training, Graphics, Information management, application and web evelopment,Desktop Applications (Microsoft Word,Microsoft Excel,Corel Draw,Page Maker) e.t.c.

This gesture will provide employment to their trainers and most importantly give youths and students basic knowledge that can be transform into skills and expertise. This will make many youths to become employers of labours instead of job seekers.

It could be a deliberate attempt to waste tax payers money,If the building in question is left there wasting away without using it for the intended purpose. It is important to stress it that enlighten the youths and students in ICT will go along way in creating a lot of opportunity and prospect for youths in the local government.

Akudaaya: Tinubu, Abacha and Shettima’s Theory of Ruthless Leadership | Festus Adedayo

OPINION By Festus ADEDAYO In what seems to affirm that he wears controversies like apparel, vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Party (APC), Kashim Shettima, leapt into yet another at the twilight of last week. On Thursday at the 96th-anniversary celebration of the Yoruba Tennis Club in Ikoyi, Lagos state, Shettima was quoted to have said that Nigeria needed the “hospitality” of General Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s despotic military ruler; Nigeria’s own contribution to the list of infamous rulers who ruled the world with infernal ruthlessness. As the controversy over what he actually said raged, Shettima came out with a clarification: He actually said that in 2023, Nigeria needed a president who possessed “a dose of ruthlessness and taciturnity”. Nigerians have since been engaged in dissecting what lay atop the mind of a man who could be the country’s vice president. “We need a leader with a dose of ruthlessness and taciturnity of General Sani Abacha… Nice men do not ma...

The Speaker of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin met the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan to deliberate issues around financial autonomy for States Assembly and local governments. The brief meeting which was held yesterday after a national legislative assignment in Abuja, it’s considered necessary to improve cooperation between the National Assembly (Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives) and the State legislative arm. According to Ogundoyin, the wide gap between the National and the State assembly needs to be bridged to ensure that the common interest of the people are genuinely and adequately represented. He noted that the local government and State Assembly are closer to the people, saying the financial autonomy is essential towards meeting grassroot needs and making the State lawmakers run their legislative duties without hindrances. LAUTECH: Solving One Problem But Creating Another |Adewuyi Adegbite

By Adewuyi Adegbite The sole ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) by Oyo State is a welcome development. Joint ownership of the institution by Oyo and Osun states has culminated into protracted crises in the institution, which has had telling effects on the students, the staff and its rating as the best state university in Nigeria as well as the relationship between the owner states. Thus, the taking over of the institution by the Oyo State Government is applauded by all and sundry as a pragmatic way of engendering peace. However, the report credited to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde that the institution would be run as a multi-campus is sad news for all Ogbomoso indigenes as well as lovers of justice. I wish to advise the Oyo State Government to reconsider the idea in the interest of peaceful coexistence among the various zones of the state, which is homogenous. Numerically and population-wise, Ogbomoso geo-political zo...
